After en entire week of work, I was finally able to finish this vibrant flower mobile. I was really inspired by the flowers and colors in my bedspread which can be seen underneath and I really felt that I needed a matching mobile to hang above. As you can see, I really pushed the cutting technique from the fairy (seen here) to another level, using it in the flowers and the leaves. Each flower took over an hour to make- but they were definitely worth the effort!
This mobile was interesting to make since it's very different from the others. I didn't intend for this mobile to turn out like this at all, but I've learned that a mobile will start to shape how it wants to and take on a mind of it's own. The joining points in this mobile are all angled, where as they are usually very straight on my previous mobiles. It was especially challenging to keep the fluidity in the mobile even with all of the angles. As I said, this was not my first intention at all, however I soon realized there was no way around it since the flowers themselves are so heavy.
Now the mobile hangs very happily and matching above my bed and I go to sleep every night blowing on it's leaves.
