Deer: Pt. 1

This piece started as a project for a class, in which I was able to sneak in making mobiles for school work. The class was Entrepreneurship, and in typical fashion, we needed to come up with a business idea. So when it came time for my group to brainstorm for ideas, I mentioned my mobiles. To my excitement- the group decided to go with it. We all agreed that it was just a gut feeling.

Now the business that we came up with is my ultimate dream, and this is it: Wire in the City would be a business focusing on the production of unique, large-scale, moving sculptures. The business would approach both public and private groups, such as cities and offices, who are interested in bringing in innovative and creative sculptures into the environment. There is indeed a 15 page business plan that explains the rest, but I'm not going to go more into it here.

The following is just a small blip of what it took to produce our life size deer, which would ideally be commissioned by our home city, Västerås, as the deer is considered a symbol of the area.

This sculpture took a week to manufacture, from a small paper model to a full size piece. Oh but wait.. Roger still wasn't completed at this point. He still needed to be painted of course! You'll be able to see a finished Roger in Deer: Pt. 2..
