Today was a bit dreary/rainy here in Sweden, so what better time than to head to the local museum? There happens to be a very interesting exhibition there at the moment which centres on moving art! The artist in question is P. O. Ultvedt (1927-2006), and in Sweden he is considered the foremost artist in moving sculpture. So I learned something new today to say the least!
Imagine stepping into a room with these random mechanical objects hanging around you, with the sounds of mechanical buzzes and squeaking humming in the background. The sounds definitely added to the overall experience of the exhibition. Now, trying to portray a moving sculpture in a picture is a challenge. What's missing is the movement. Each piece would was powered by a set of pulleys and levers. These pulley and levers were then attached to strings which would seemingly randomly move the sculpture.

It's always interesting to see a different kinds of moving sculptures since it's always so new and a great source of inspiration.
